Let me explain the reason behind my harsh rating.The plot: Melanie Parker CEO of her family founded media empire is your every day typical billionaire who wants a baby before her internal clock ticks out. Who better to pick for a father than the extremely sexy and well known bad boy Sloan Quest arch rival CEO of his own billionaire media corporation. His genes, brains, money and the fact that he doesn't want to settle down makes him the perfect candidate for Melanie's proposal with no strings attached.
Problem: There was absolutely no character building, no depth, no story to read! Let me give you an example without giving away to much, although it is all very predictable.
Before Melanie drops the proposal to Sloan he catches up with his mates for lunch who are all married with children or getting married. Sloan clearly says he's happy living the bachelor life. It works perfectly for him. Then Melanie comes into it. He's shocked but agrees to giving her a baby if she'll marry him because that's what he believes in and he apparently had some sort of admiration for her since he laid eyes on Melanie all shy and geeky as a freshman fifteen years earlier while he was a senior.
Suddenly they're saying 'I do'. No seriously there is absolutely no story in between from where Melanie agrees to the terms to the time they get married a few months later. I was devastated. Did they hang out? Did they have anything in common. Go on dates? Meet the parents? Nothing!!
They said I Do walked past all their family and friends and BOOM their in their shack on their honeymoon. I expected conversations leading up to the wedding between Sloan and his friends as they tried to suss him out and determine what the hell happened.But noooo.
So they're on their honeymoon but you only get to read two days worth out of the weeks vacation before BOOM they're back at their jobs. Did they move in together? Where did they move in? Are they getting along apart from the amazing sex they have although the author decided to skip those scenes. Yes that's right if you're expecting hands on romance you won't get it here. Their shirts come off and then they're suddenly laying there in the aftermath or you're two weeks down the track.
Basically the whole book goes like this. There is no story. It just jumps, cutting out all the important character building, development of relationships and back ground. I had trouble picturing characters and who they really were suppose to be. Do not be fooled by the Bad Boy Billionaire Collection. Yes he's wealthy but no where in the book does it ever portray him as a bad boy except his friends talking about his stellar reputation with the ladies at the very beginning.
Oh and the 'drama' plot was weak and frankly boring.
.99 cents is asking too much.
Would I recommend: Obviously not.

I bought this book by chance,since it is available at lowest price. But I am satisfied that this book kept me busy and interested.It is certainly a good bargain and worth the price paid.Though I do not go for romantic stories, this one impressed me.Author has done neat editing and every page is well written and compact.
I can confidently recommend this to others as a good read and entertainer.

Cute premise, but don't read it if you don't want to read any hot-and-heavy sex scenes. A little more of this than was called for, but I was fairly interested, at least halfway through. Then it started to become easy to see what would happen next. The end seemed really rushed and so wasn't very satisfying, but if I was 20 years younger, I'd go looking for this guy!
It was an ok book. For someone to walk right in to your office that you really haven't met and suggest to have your baby is nuts! I like reading about love at first sight and all but this was just stupid. Melanie really got on my nerves with this freaking out over the fact she was turning 35 and no baby in sight. I guess looking at today life with tons of women having children at 40. It was pissing me off for her craziness! This was just an OK read.
I read at least 5books per week, and I am quite easily entertained. I have never been so inclined to write a review before. This author I would assume is very inexperienced.
If this book was free and you are only investing your time then proceed with caution. But I paid $1.00 for this and even know its only $1.00 the fact that the publisher is charging for this I find it offensive.
I also have serious questions as to the other readers who gave this 5 stars!!!
The characters were weak and boring, the story was predictable and dragged and the dialogue was so cheesy! At one point there is even the line "thanks sir, we sure could use a guy like you on the force". It reminded me of a really bad 1970's TV drama. IF you read this book, do not set your hopes to high.
This book is about a woman's biological clock and what it makes women think and do especially those women who are used to controlling their futures. Believe me, there are people out there like that. I have two children like that. In this story, although they get together for the wrong reasons, they end up together for the right ones. Plenty of fire and ice behind the curtain of marriage which is where is should be. Love the book. I want to read more of this author.
I just read this book last night and it wasn't bad, but I"m not sure I'd choose it again. The character and plot were fine just a bit angsty. Once again the maine female character needed that particular guy to help her find her pleasure and confidence in her body. Just once I would love to read a romance novel where the female character isn't totally dependent on the male for sexual confidence. I would love it if she were sexy and confident without the guy, and even more so with him. However that is besides the point. It was nice to see a female character who was a least financially and intellectually an equal with the male lead, so she wasn't totally dependent on him.
When I first started reading the book, I thought it was not going to be good. What with her being so clinical about having a baby. But that was until Sloane made his own Indecent Proposal. It was then that I started changing my mind. By the time they were on their honeymoon I was hooked. I loved his patience with her, and I loved how he was honest, not keeping things from her, except when the P.I. said not to tell her , to keep her safe. Which brings me to my next point. I loved how he did what he had to do, to keep her safe. And last but not least, I liked how Judy in the end gave Melanie her heart desired, that much beloved child. Which brings us full circle.
